Banana Republic slim fit tuxedo-front french cuff shirt
This shirt came with me on a recent trip to Vegas, mainly so I’d feel like a high-roller when I sat down at the $5 minimum blackjack tables. I think I played it off rather convincingly.
Banana Republic’s website shows a fellow with perfectly-trimmed 2nd-day stubble wearing this shirt with black slacks and a sport coat slung over one shoulder. Personally, I prefer the use of both hands, so slinging the sport coat over the shoulder at all times is not an option. I have found, however, that the shirt looks great under a black blazer and with dark jeans.
The shirt is woven in Italy, and all of the details are perfect: the fabric has a feeling and aesthetic that isn’t captured in the photos, the fit is tapered perfectly, and the collar stands perfectly even without collar-stays. Even the buttons are of the highest quality. Of course this all comes at a price, but it’s worth the expense for a well-made, very stylish shirt with classic appeal.
