Sun Pacific Cuties
A warning, fair readers: Sun Pacific is putting heroin in their Cuties brand clementines. That is the ONLY LOGICAL CONCLUSION I can find as to why I am so hooked on the things. It’s no longer unusual for me to eat six in a day.
On the downside, the recent failure of much of the California citrus crop has made these pocket-size citruses skyrocket in price lately. If you see me standing on an offramp next to I-5, you’ll know that my Cutie addiction has finally made me a broken man.
X = 9.2: easy to peel and eat, extremely sweet and juicy, but high prices may someday reduce me to a life of vagrancy, performing unspeakable acts for my next Vitamin C fix.

After sampling cuties available in the Seattle area and two different safeways in San Francisco, I can say without a doubt that the quality in Seattle is much better. I completely agree with your listed opinions. However, when we bought them down here, they were nowhere near as sweet and went bad within 4 days. Since they have the same source, I’m inclined to believe this is Safeway’s fault.

I have had bad batches of Cuties as well. The batch I bought at Costco was unripe, as was the batch I bought from Whole Foods. On the other hand, every batch I’ve purchased at QFC here in Seattle has been extraordinary.
This discussion reminds me that I’m all out of Cuties. Time to move some money from savings and hit the QFC.
